Our Mission

The transition from the European Academy of Paediatric Societies Congress to the Congress of the European Paediatric Academic Societies (CEPAS) marks an evolution in our commitment to advancing paediatric care and education.
After more than 15 years of collaboration between the European Academy of Paediatrics (EAP) and the European Society for Paediatric Research (ESPR), this change reflects our renewed focus on fostering high-quality, cutting-edge scientific content and a more inclusive and innovative congress experience.

CEPAS represents the next chapter in bringing together diverse paediatric specialties under a unified, forward-thinking platform. While building on the strong foundation established in the past, CEPAS introduces fresh features and modernised, participatory approaches that align with the evolving needs of paediatric healthcare professionals worldwide. The new name and format underscore our commitment to continuous improvement and global collaboration in paediatrics, ensuring that the congress remains at the forefront of scientific and clinical advancements.

Uniting paediatric professionals in advancing child health through cutting-edge research, education, and collaboration.

Welcome Letter

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

We are thrilled to invite you to the inaugural Congress of the European Paediatric Academic Societies (CEPAS) in Lyon, France, from 28 – 31 October 2026, a brandnew chapter in the legacy of European paediatric meetings and scientific excellence.

Building on more than 15 years of successful collaboration, the European Academy of Paediatrics (EAP) and the European Society for Paediatric Research (ESPR) are proud to introduce CEPAS as the successor to the European Academy of Paediatric Societies Congress. Our new congress fully embodies the core values of EAP and ESPR, offering a dynamic platform where the latest in scientific research, clinical practice, advocacy, and paediatric training converge.

CEPAS is committed to delivering a high-calibre scientific programme that is both cutting-edge and practical. From bench to bedside and beyond, it will provide invaluable learning and networking opportunities. We are working closely with other paediatric scientific societies to ensure a broad and inclusive representation of the global community. Our aim is to enhance the quality of paediatric care and training worldwide by bringing together paediatricians, neonatologists, nurses, allied healthcare professionals, researchers, residents, students, parent representatives, and industry under one roof.

As we embark on this new journey, we warmly invite you to engage with us from the very beginning. Your ideas and contributions are vital to shaping this congress into a truly innovative and impactful event. We encourage you to share your thoughts on how we can make CEPAS a groundbreaking experience, submit abstracts, and contribute to the scientific programme – we are just one click away. Do get in touch with us!

Join us in 2026 for the first of many CEPAS congresses, where together, we will advance paediatric care and training, not just in Europe, but globally. Be part of the change. Let’s make this vision a reality – together.

Warm regards,

Berthold Koletzko / Willem de Boode
